Fellow officers,
As we began today, with heavy
hearts with the loss of a fellow Marine, a good
friend and Colleague, Ed Ringer, let us remember him
while with a heavy heart also with the joy of
getting to know such a wonderful person. I know I
will always remember the gruffness of his voice, but
also his love of our Corps and League. I will
remember his help with Jag related duties with my
detachment, his calls to see if all was going well.
You that knew him better will remember different
things about him as you shared time and friendship
with him far longer than I did, so you will have
even more memories to remember this kind and gentle
man as well as a warrior, and a Marine. SO my
prayers now will be for us his friends as we must
learn to live without his advise and friendship, but
his dear family as they must learn to live without
someone even more dear to them than even with us.
For while he was our friend, he was their family,
while he was our brother in the Corps , he was their
provider and protector in life, So in our sorrow let
us remember them for I can promise you that would be
the way Ed would have wanted it.
